New technologies: Implementation plans? Discussions?

(I really need a better category to post this in) ;)

Any chance that the Jumpbox platform is going to support EC2 (Amazon elastic cloud)?
I am excited about the now supported S3 backup, and would like to really harness the ideas that Amazon is putting out there; Run an infinitely scalable virtual machine in the ether of the internet.

At the moment, the tools are very rough, but the service works.

Being able to pay monthly for some EC2 resources and S3 storage, then log into the jumpbox and run anything I want to run with incremental backups sounds like a nirvana that I could not have conceived of 10 years ago.

All I'll say on this right now, is that yes that would be interesting. Keep an eye on our blog.

I thought EC2 supported rPath-based XEN images just fine... is that not the case?

rPath targets EC2 explicitly. You can't just run any arbitrary Xen image on EC2 without extra work. The very short version is that the image has to be packaged in a particular way and stored in S3.
